"You've reached the comms device of Megaman.EXE. I'm not available at the moment, so please leave a message and I will respond as soon as I am able! Thank you!"
[ He floats his toolbot over - it's basically just a pocket dimension backpack at this point - and starts pulling stuff out of it. A mat, some robot skeletons, wrist bands... ]
[Megaman was raised in a lab - he can take a secret to the grave, with or without security protocols.
He watches everything Hiro's pulling out intently, trying to guess at what they're for. The robot parts are obvious, the mat...he's got guesses, but they all feel wrong. He only moves once, to cautiously poke at one of the wristbands; what in the world are those for?]
Careful. That's an experiment of mine. I'm trying to see if I can build neuro-cranial transmitters that you don't have to wear on your head.
[ Hiro activates the mat ... and suddenly a 3-D field jumps up. There's a top level with glass squares, a little rickety looking, and some holes where tiles have fallen. Below it is now a thick basin of lava. Fake, of course, but solid enough to the touch. It's all data projection, the same stuff that goes into a cross-fusion or virus building ... and that field is more than a little based on what he's seen from his comm imprisonment. ]
[He snatches his hand back at "careful" - he's not about to risk messing up anything that might be delicate. Before he can ask anything more about them, though, the mat fires up and has his immediate attention. It takes him a second to realize just what he's looking at, and when he does his face just lights right up.]
That's amazing! It looks just like a netbattle arena!
That's 'cause I based 'em on what I saw inside my comm. And what you and Magicman told me about netbattles.
[ Another button activates the bots, which develop data-projected outsides to make them more than just a skeleton. One is squishy and adorable, while the other is decked out in red armor. ]
Okay, you can put the bracelet on now. See if you can get your bot to move.
